Yesterday, version 0.5.2 of the XHTML Mobile Profile add-on for Firefox was released. Please install from Mozilla Add-ons.
This is the second bugfix release of version 0.5, (which was not announced when released last month, oops). Version 0.5 adds support for rendering multipart mixed content in Firefox.
Please report any defects or enhancement requests in Mozdev Bugzilla.
Hello Gareth,
both your addons (header and xhtml) are really usefull to me.
but i’ve still some problems with the multipart.
Actually browsing a multipart/mixed content i receive the error xml parsing error: not well formed line 1 column 7 ——=blablabla
where the xml parser arrive to the =.
My question is… why the xml parser start? it’s something related to your addon??
Cheers,
Mario
Hi Mario,
The XML parser error is caused because the page generated by the XHTMLMP addon causes the resulting page to not be valid XML.
To understand the actual cause, I would need to see the page you were trying to render. Please open a bug report here: http://xhtmlmp.mozdev.org/bugs.html and attach the page which resulted in the error.
Cheers,
Gareth
Hi Gareth,
I work in the mobile industry and I use modify headers and xhtml every day. I was looking for a plugin which would support multipart, and it seems xhtml mobile profile does this. However, it doesn’t work for me. When I access a portal with a multipart user-agent, I get prompted to save the file. The type displayed is application/vnd.wap.multipart.mixed.
Can XHTMLMP handle multipart? If so, which types? And can I add application/vnd.wap.multipart.mixed to the list of types XHTMLMP can do?
Thanks,
Matt Darwin
Hi Matt,
The problem is only the multipart/mixed content type is supported by the addon. I’ve added a bug at https://www.mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=18676 to track adding application/vnd.wap.multipart.mixed
Feel free to add yourself as a cc to this bug to add comments. I’d appreciate a sample site if you have one, with a user-agent to test with.
Cheers,
Gareth
