Question: Modify Headers seems to have stopped working after upgrading to version 0.7.1.0 (or above). What’s happened?
Answer: The “Always On” feature has been replaced with a Start/Stop button. See the Quickstart page for instructions on how to use this.
Question: I think I’ve found a bug. Where should I report it?

Answer: No, this is not possible. The IP address is either statically configured in, or dynamically assigned by the network to the underlying operating system. Modify Headers has no knowledge of and no mechanism for manipulating the IP address.
Opera 11 now supports extensions will there be a Modify Headers version for it?
thanks.
I’ve had a look at the Opera API for extensions and I can’t find any references to modifying HTTP headers. This means Modify Headers cannot be supported on Opera at this time.
I’m using Firefox version 8. The last Modify Headers I tried to install wasnt compatible. Does the latest version support Firefox version 8?
Thanks,
Green

Modify Headers 0.7.0.2 is compatible with Firefox 8. I use it with that version.
Is there an XPI version of Modify Headers that will allow adding/installation of Modify Headers while offline? I’m usign Firefox 8.
Thanks,
Green

You should be able to download the XPI from Mozilla Addons without triggering the install procedure.
Just wondering what you think of the Tamper Data add-on and how it compares to Modify Headers? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tamper-data/
I like it and have used it myself on occasion. I’ve found that while Tamper Data is similar, it is not the same. It has different use-cases to Modify Headers.
is there a version for firefox android anywhere near? ff on android has come such a long way (i use aurora), but is incomplete w/o modify headers! i think you spoke elsewhere about ui issues, well.. so long as it works i couldn’t care how ugly it might need to be, for now
thanks for everything you have done so far with MH!
Hi Mick, I’m sorry, but there is not a version for Android near. The biggest obstacle is time.
I hope for more options like in BrowserMasquerade. Such as different Headers for different URL matches.
There is an enhancement request for this: https://www.mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=18585. It is high on the priority list.
Hi, Gareth! Thank you for this good add-on !
I’ve ‘downgraded’ Firefox from 3.6.x to 3.5.19 (I had to, don’t ask…) .
Unfortunately FF reports Modify Headers 0.7.0.2 as “not compatible” and has disactivated it
May I force activation by, maybe changing the min FF version in the extension’s manifest, or is it really incompatible ? If the last, which version of Mod Heads should I download for FF 3.5 (please provide a link if it’s not directly accessible from your public pages any more) ?
You could try and force activate it. I really don’t know if it will work as this was some time ago. I think I stopped supporting 3.5 and below because MH 0.7 uses an API available in 2.6+ only.
Anyway, the last version to support Fx 3.5.* is 0.6.11: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/modify-headers/versions/?page=1#version-0.6.11
PLEASE LAUNCH Modify Headers VERSION FOR MOZILLA SEAMONKEY.
PLEASE…
There is a bug for this: https://www.mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=24268. I’d like to support Seamonkey, it’s just a question of time.
hi gareth,
excellent add on – so far only been using it on windows – I cant seem to download it to the android Firefox – does this run on android Firefox? (If so how do we go about installing it? – the usual PC methods don’t appear to work)
A version of Modify Headers for Android is not yet available. For now, I’m focusing on the desktop version.
Modify Headers is incredibly useful to me! Will there be a version for IPv6?
The HTTP protocol is independent of the IP version. Modify Headers should work with IPv6 without modification.
